Tray Date
Freeware

Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000; Windows 98SE; Windows ME; Windows NT; Windows XP; Windows Vista

No Splash Screen. No advertisements. No spam from the producers. No adware.

Here is all the advertisement you are going to see... If you like Tray Date, take a look at our other freeware programs at Titlebar Software's homepage. Our main programs are the "Tray Folder" programs. Take a look at them, if you like, at:

Tray Date has a fairly small .exe file. As a result there will be almost no startup lag when auto starting the program when Windows starts.

-Tray Date does not establish a useless self serving tray icon to clutter up your tray notification area in the lower right hand corner of the desktop. However, it does establish a tray icon that displays the current date.

-Tray Date does not make any entries to your registry except the one entry required to autostart with Windows. This entry will be removed when tray date is uninstalled.

-Tray Date does not create a bunch of folders and files to clutter up your computer's file system with little programs that are going to advertise to you stuff you do not want, do not need, and do not want to see even if it might have a dancing rabbit.

INSTALLATION:

Decompress the .zip file to a folder on your hard drive. Run the "Setup" file located in the downloaded folder. There will be a shortcut to the program put in your Start Menu's programs list. Once Tray Date is installed, it would be best to restart your computer. Tray Date will autostart when Windows starts.

--------

If you are installing more than one Titlebar program, you may find that the two programs have similar features. For instance, Titlebar Time is very similar in operation to Titlebar Date so only one of the programs can be running. The programs cannot both run at one time. That would be pointless. If the situation does occur where two of our programs are running at the same time and there is a conflict, the date and time display will flash and let you know there is a conflict and you should uninstall one of the programs. For instance, Tray Date is also part of the "Tray Folder" program. So, if you run Tray Date and at the same time
Tray Folder is running you will likely end up with two tray icons displaying the date. Since that would be pointless, exit and uninstall Tray Date since Tray Folder includes a Tray Date feature and is a more useful piece of software.

USING TRAY DATE:

It displays the date. That is really about the extent of it. Whenever the date changes in your Windows operating system the date displayed by the tray icon will also change within 10 or 15 seconds. It does autostart with Windows and you can right click on the tray icon and click "Exit" to stop the program.

The Tray Date folder created in your Start Menu's Program List can be deleted. Since Tray Date auto starts with Windows this folder is likely to end up being clutter once you have read the Readme.

Tray Date is installed for the current user of the computer. If another user wants Tray Date to run under there profile, put a shortcut to Tray Date in their Start Menu's Programs list in the "Startup Folder".

To Uninstall:
Make sure Tray Date is not running and select Tray Date on the Add Remove programs list accessible through the Control Panel.
